Whats new around the farm?

HONEY HONEY HONEY

Stay tuned! LOCAL honey produced right in our yard by Chris and his bees! We will have fresh honey available in the next few days!

LAVENDER BANTAM AMERAUCANA

Our lavender bantam Ameraucanas have arrived! These little ones are the darlings of the farm, preferring human interaction over snacks, a first in our world! And they love EVERYONE - they flock to the coop door any time they see a human approach. These are going to be so much FUN!!! Hoping to have our first babies available either in late fall or early spring.

D'UCCLES

Our breeding program for d'Uccle frizzles is in full swing. This means lots and lots of hatching to obtain breeding flocks of frizzle mille fleur and golden neck pullets (girls). Then we will use these flocks with some roosters from top breeders to line breed in order to quickly increase the quality of the frizzle d'Uccles. What does this mean for those who want d'Uccle chicks? LOTS of chicks available! We have several chicks growing up right now, so smooth mille fleur, smooth golden necks, and frizzle boys will become available as we continue to hatch!

SILKIES AND SHOWGIRLS

Our paint silkie program is also progressing nicely. We have several gorgeous grow outs - paints, blacks from paint breedings, and in our other group, pure white silkies! Our little white roosters are growing swiftly, so in a couple of months, one lucky boy will start producing showgirls with our two mature showgirl hens! We can't wait, since we adore the personalities of Chewbawka and Crystal! We are also about to hatch out some fun additions to our white pen - possible frizzles! Our white pen should be lovely this fall. It will eventually have a white silkie rooster from a top master breeder (Magnolia), along with two Magnolia white silkie hens, two white silkie showgirls (also from Magnolia), and hopefully a frizzle or sizzle hen (or two). This pen should produce show stopping white silkies, showgirls, and possible frizzle/sizzle/satin showgirls and silkies. Our paint pens will eventually produce lovely paints, plus a few showgirls from our showgirl black split girl! And eventually we will have more paint showgirl possibilities as our black showgirl rooster begins to produce black split babies with his paint girls!

AVAILABLE:

Right now we are just about to list some baby d'Uccles for sale. It takes about a week for us to determine whether a chick is a frizzle - and we are keeping all frizzles right now to make frizzle pullet breeding flocks. So beautiful smooth babies will be put up for sale in the next week few days.
Feel free to contact us directly at mimosagrace@gmail.com if you would like to be placed on a specific waiting list.

We sell straight run d'Uccle babies for $10 each or two for $15 (not sexed).

After about 4-6 weeks, we can usually tell which babies are male or female. At that point, girls are sold for $20-$40, depending on quantity, quality, color, and whether a frizzle is available. Boys are sold for $5 each, free with pullets.

Want a rooster? Contact us and talk - we love to find homes for our boys, but we do need to be very careful, as we do not wish to unknowingly contribute them to the cock or pit fighting community. Show us a good home and we'll show you a great rooster!

As for silkies and lavender Ameraucana bantam babies, we have none at the moment. We will probably have some white silkies available soon, as our last hatch is happening next week. This hatch is from a wonderful Florida breeder and is intended to add some fun frizzle/sizzle breeders to our white silkie pen. We will hatch, wait for feather development, DNA sex the ones that we are interested in keeping, and sell the rest, so stay tuned!
