Whats new around the farm?
Well it's been soooo hot, but we are having a lovely cool week after some much needed rain. Chicks are popping out all over the place, even a little blue showgirl! Yesterday we had an exciting morning - absentminded me left a latch open, and some three weeks old took advantage of the opportunity and escaped into the yard! I found them hiding in the grass under the fig tree, and they were NOT in the mood to return. Three people, two butterfly nets, and 20 minutes later, the intrepid adventurers were safely returned to their coop, while a disappointed barncat prowled around meowing. Would Dinah eat chicks? I don't know, and I definitely do not want to find out! Here's Dinah's favorite place - sunning on the back porch!

We also had some lovely visitors in our flowers this week!

We hope everyone is having a lovely summer!
